A big part of our lake trail initiative is to improve drainage crossings. Number one on the hit list is at Marker 30. As we can see in its current state, there is much need for improvement. As one descends into the drainage of the area from the West bank of the reservoir, a narrow bridge is offered as a crossing. FCA is looking to widen this crossing at least 3x original width.

Proper concrete blocking abutments will be sunk into the ground with a proper minimum 16' long span so bikers and hikers can safely cross this areas, even during times of high flow.

Based on the isometric view above, a maximum 22' clearance from the drainage will accommodate the trail during times of flooding. Our carpenter will be working hard this summer to create this bridge-stay tuned for announcements when work commences! In the meantime we would like to hear your input as what you think is important in this section. How would you like bridge approaches to look in this area? Comment below!

Another Preview below of what the bridge should turn out to look like-similar to the pond drainage crossing at our Conservation Area, installed in 2018.
